CIS Classes - RDP Setup on a Windows PC
Remote Desktop Setup
Please use the following steps to setup a connection to our Remote Desktop Server on a Windows PC for CIS classes.
Click on the Start button.
Click into the Search bar at the top of the Start menu. Type remote into the search bar. Remote Desktop Connection will pop up. Click on Remote Desktop Connection or press Enter on the keyboard to open the application.
A new window will open. Click into computer field and enter the following IP Address: 195.201.95.153:14725
After you enter the IP Address, click on Show Options on the bottom left-hand corner of the window.
At this window, you will enter your username. This will be the same as your MyCom username. Please remember to type in st-rdp1\ before your username. DO NOT ADD A SPACE AFTER st-rdp1\. After adding your username, click on Save As… at the bottom of the window.
In the Save As window, you will save your Remote Desktop connection. For this example, I named my connection Remote Desktop and saved it to my Desktop. You may choose to save the Remote Desktop connection in another folder.
Once the connection is saved. You will see the following icon in your chosen save location.
After you save the connection. You will be at the following window. Click Connect at the bottom right-hand side of the window.
After you click Connect, this window will pop up. Please be sure to click in the checkbox for the option - Don’t ask me again for connections to this computer.
Click Connect again at the bottom of the window.
After you click Connect, you will be prompted for your password. This will be provided to you by your instructor. After you enter your password, click OK.
The progress bar below will pop up as Remote Desktop attempts to connect to the server.
Once the connection is established, you will be at the Desktop on the Remote Desktop Server. You may use the installed applications as you wish. Please keep in mind that this Remote Desktop Server does not allow file transfer to your physical computer. You will need to e-mail any work to yourself or upload directly to Canvas. Ask your instructor if you have any questions regarding turning in your work. *Please disregard the Activate Windows warning at the bottom of the screen.

Your instructor’s ability to troubleshoot these issues will be limited.
